ALGAE-STATE – MicroALGAE cultivation in digeSTATE streams to close carbon and nutrient loops in co-digestion processes of agri-food biowaste

ALGAE-STATE contributes to the agri-food sector to achieve the objectives set by the EU through the implementation of anaerobic co-digestion of various by-products coupled to microalgae cultivation, following a biorefinery approach.

The  ALGAE-STATE project contributes to mitigate the emission of greenhouse gases (GHG) and promotes the use of renewable energy.

It also aims to close nutrient and carbon loops by producing circular bio-products from microalgae biomass through 3 different alternatives: biomethane, biofertilisers and alternative proteins.
